Use Path Assessment Coordinator
Sidewalk design and
pedestrian planning skills would be beneficial; however, are
not required.
This is a unique position. We are
looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual,
willing to work in a variety of outdoor conditions and ready
to learn a new set of skills as part of a project team
working to develop new outdoor recreation and sidewalk
assessment procedures.
Job Responsibilities
25% Field Work
-
Conduct detailed assessments of urban sidewalks
and shared use pathways for distance, grade,
cross slope, width, surface firmness and
stability and obstructions
·
Conduct detailed assessments of sidewalk elements
including curb ramps and driveway crossings
·
Conduct detailed assessments of sidewalk features
for access (e.g., benches, bike racks, pedestrian
signal actuators)
·
Coordinate meetings with pedestrian planners, GIS
coordinators, and city planners
75% Office Work
-
Data entry and manipulation in custom database
and spreadsheets
-
Create custom reports for city planners and GIS
managers
-
Participate in development and testing of
customized database program
· Participate in the automation of measurement
processes using electronic instrumentation

Document and update project progress reports

Work with graphic designer staff to create
custom signage & symbols as needed
Qualities Desired

Computer proficient with Word, Excel and
computer databases

Willing to develop a passion and focus on
accessibility issues related to sidewalk and
trail design

Able to communicate and work effectively with
public land managers and city planners

Interest in outdoor recreation and sidewalk
environments

Bachelor’s or advanced degree
