Vehicle Barrier for Trails

The results of this project will provide technical benefits through enhanced accessible design capability, economic benefits to rural communities of up to $140,000/year/mile of trail, and social benefits through enhancing the community participation and health of people with disabilities and their families.

Ski Area Access

A Draft American National Standard for Adaptive Skiing Equipment has been developed. It includes general requirements for the equipment and specific requirements for the evacuation harness, retention device, braking mechanism, skid plate effectiveness, and center of mass location.

Guidelines for Fitness Equipment

The intent of universal design is to simplify life for everyone by making products, communications, or the built environment more usable by as many people as possible at little or no extra cost. Universal design benefits people of all ages and abilities.

Recreation & Leisure Technologies

Technologies have been developed for people with disabilities so that each person can continue to do the common hobbies they love. We have different categories such as SnowLandWater and Tools for Play

WC Seating & Mobility

Technology Development is a constant project that Beneficial Designs, Inc. incorporates. Some of the designs we have developed include the Hip Grip Pelvic Stabilization DeviceFlexRim Low Impact Wheelchair Pushrim and Back Support Shaping System

Standards Development

Standards are needed for wheelchairs, like any other device. Our company actively participates in RESNA and ISO meetings and drafting standards to be implemented.

Tools for Life

This branch of our organization seeks to provide information on people and organizations that facilitate the provision of adaptive seating and mobility equipment to persons with disabilities throughout the world where these technologies are not readily available.
