The City of Sausalito, California is located just north of San Francisco and has a population of 7,000. In 2017, Beneficial Designs partnered with GPPA Architects to perform a public right-of-way accessibility survey. The assessment included evaluating over 15 miles of sidewalk for issues such as sinking, cracking, or obstructions, as well as collecting grade, cross slope and pavement type. The data were evaluated for compliance with Public Right-of-Way Accessibility Guidelines (PROWAG) and used to update the City’s ADA self-evaluation and transition plan.
